Questions

What if you send me a book I already own?
Tell us and we will replace it. It is the one thing this service exists to get right, so it counts as our mistake, not bad luck. Adding shelf photos or typing in titles is what makes it very unlikely in the first place.
What condition are the books in?
Secondhand and honest about it. We record the condition of everything we buy and will not send anything falling apart, but expect creased spines, the occasional inscription, and a price pencilled inside the cover. That is the point.
Do you keep my bookshelf photos?
They are stored privately and are never public. Only you and NinthYard can see them, they are never served from a guessable address, and you can delete any of them from your account at any time. Deleting a photo does not delete the titles we read from it — those stay on your shelf list unless you remove them too.
Can I pause or cancel?
At any time, from your account, with no notice period and no minimum. Pausing keeps your preferences and your shelf list exactly as they are.
Can I change how often books arrive?
Yes, whenever you like. The change takes effect from your next billing date.
Where do you deliver?
Anywhere in the United Kingdom. Postage is included in the price. We do not ship overseas at the moment.
Which charities do the books come from?
High street charity shops, chosen by whatever is on their shelves that week rather than by any arrangement. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any charity, and we would rather say that plainly than imply a partnership we do not have.
Can I give it as a gift?
Not yet, as a proper gift flow. For now the practical route is to subscribe with your own account and set the delivery address to theirs — though the preferences would then be yours to set on their behalf.
